The Boeing 737-8 MAX is the most widespread version of the latest generation of the Boeing 737 narrow-body twin-engine airliner. It is told apart from the older series above all by its CFM LEAP-1B engines with bulky nacelles and by the split wingtips, which point upward and downward at the same time. The aircraft serves on short and medium routes and flies in the colors of dozens of carriers all over the world.
The plastic kit in 1:144 scale is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The finished model is roughly 27 cm long with a wingspan of around 25 cm, so in a display cabinet it stands comparison with other airliners in the same scale.
An airliner consists largely of smooth surfaces, so it pays to spend time on the seams on the fuselage and on the leading edges. Fill and sand the joints with fine abrasive paper, otherwise every unevenness shows under a uniform paint finish. Apply the paint in thin coats. Before applying the decals, let the paint dry perfectly and polish the surface with gloss varnish, so that no bubbles form under the decals.
The kit suits collectors of airliners as well as modelers who want to add a current type in the widespread 1:144 scale to a display cabinet. The build calls for no special equipment, but the reward for careful surface preparation is a clean paint finish with no visible joints. Paints, glue and filler are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
