Spitfire Mk.Ia and Hurricane Mk.I 1:144 is a set of two plastic models of the legendary British fighters of the Battle of Britain from Revell.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds two separate injection-molded plastic models in the small 1:144 scale — the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Ia and the Hawker Hurricane Mk.I. Decal sheets and stands for displaying both aircraft in flight are part of the build. These are undemanding models that suit a quick weekend project as well as the start of a collection of Battle of Britain aircraft.
The Supermarine Spitfire and the Hawker Hurricane formed the backbone of the British fighter force in 1940. The Spitfire with its characteristic elliptical wing excelled in speed and agility, while the rugged Hurricane made up the more numerous part of the squadrons and could take heavy combat damage. Both machines were powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine and together they played a key part in the defense of Britain during the air battle over the English Channel and the south of England.
At 1:144 it pays to use thin cement for plastic applied in very small amounts, so that it does not run onto the small parts. Before painting we recommend spraying the surface with a primer and laying the shades on with an airbrush, so that the fine panel lines stay readable. Clean masking of the transition between the upper camouflage and the lower surface makes the typical British scheme easier to manage.
The models are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
