A large and richly detailed injection-molded plastic model of the German Panzer IV Ausf.H (Pz.Kpfw. IV) medium tank in the large 1:16 scale from the Trumpeter brand. It is a big kit with a high parts count which, besides plastic, also contains photo-etched metal and metal components - among them a metal gun barrel, copper cable and metal springs. The model has a multi-part molded hull, a full interior and individually assembled track links, so it makes an exceptionally faithful large model possible.
The Panzer IV was the most-produced German tank of the Second World War and formed the backbone of the Wehrmacht armored units. The Ausf.H version was one of the late and most widespread variants: it had thickened frontal armor made as a single thick plate and carried a long 75 mm gun able to fight Allied tanks effectively. The vertical armor surfaces were often coated with Zimmerit paste against magnetic mines, and protective armor plates (Schürzen) were fitted along the sides of the turret and the hull.
This is an extensive build for experienced modelers. Glue the plastic parts with modeling cement for plastic and the photo-etched and metal parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the interior and the running gear completely before you close the hull up. Apply a primer before painting and lay on thin coats with an airbrush; bring out the texture of the Zimmerit and the weathering with washes and dust or mud pigments. Allow plenty of time for assembling the individual track links.
