An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary German Pz.Kpfw.VI Tiger I heavy tank in the large 1:16 scale from Hobby Boss. It is a substantial model whose size allows rich detailing and an impressive treatment of the surface. The model corresponds to a mid-production version. The package holds decals and parts for building this feared tank of the Second World War.
The Pz.Kpfw.VI Tiger I was a German heavy tank used from 1942. It made its name with thick armor and an effective 88 mm gun that could destroy Allied tanks at long range. It was a feared opponent on the Eastern and Western Front alike and became one of the best known symbols of German armored vehicles. The mid-production version included a number of manufacturing changes compared with the early machines.
Use liquid cement for plastic and build in subassemblies. Finish and paint the running gear, the wheels and any interior before you close the hull up. Apply a primer and spray the colors with an airbrush. In a large scale the modulation of shades, the picking out of rivets and edges and above all the weathering all come into their own: washes to bring out details and recesses, and pigments for mud and dust effects on the running gear. Work in layers and wipe away excess pigment gently.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
