A plastic kit of the French Citroën HY van, nicknamed the Tube, in 1:24 scale, made to be assembled and painted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Citroën HY is a van that was built from 1947 and stayed in production until the beginning of the 1980s. You recognize it at a glance by its corrugated sheet body, which gave thin steel rigidity without a heavy frame. Front-wheel drive allowed a low floor and a flat load area, so the vehicle was easy to get into and to load. In France it earned the nickname Tube and served as a mobile shop, a baker's van and a tradesman's utility vehicle.
This is a plastic kit in 1:24 scale, that is a set of parts to be assembled and painted. The large scale gives room for careful work on the cab and the exterior details, and the finished vehicle looks like a striking piece in a display case. The number of parts, the extent of the interior fittings and the choice of marking options are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Clean the parts of excess material and production marks and test-fit the assembly dry before gluing. Use cement for plastic models and dose it sparingly so that it does not run onto visible surfaces. Mask the glazing before spraying and lift the mask off as soon as the paint has flashed off. The corrugated body comes into its own when you draw a lighter shade lightly across the already painted surface with a dry brush, so that it catches only on the crests of the corrugations.
The kit suits collectors of utility vehicles, builders of street scenes and anyone with a soft spot for French engineering. Paints, thinner, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
