A plastic kit of the Italian supercar in 1:24 scale from the German maker Revell, released in the Model Set edition. That differs from an ordinary box in that a basic set of paints, a brush and glue are packed with the moldings, so building can begin as soon as the box is opened. The model offers a multi-part engine and an opening hood, under which there is something to look at.
The Countach LP500 S followed on from the original LP400 version in 1982, and it is this form of the wedge coupe that most people picture under the name Countach: widened fenders, prominent intake ducts behind the doors and the option of a massive rear wing. The body was designed by Marcello Gandini at the Bertone studio, the power comes from a V12 mounted longitudinally ahead of the rear axle, and the doors open with their characteristic upward movement. The car was built until the mid-1980s and remains an icon of its era to this day.
On a road car it is the gloss that decides. So smooth the body before painting, lay down the filler primer in thin coats and sand it gently between them. The paints enclosed will serve well on the interior, the engine and the chassis; for the large glossy area of the body an airbrush and a clear coat pay off. Finish the interior and the engine bay before you put the body together, and glue the clear parts with a glue intended for transparencies, so that they do not go cloudy.
The model is supplied unassembled; paints, a brush and glue are packed with the Model Set edition, and further shades and tools can be added to suit your own plan.
