A decal sheet for a model of the Japanese fighter Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero in 1:24 scale. The range of markings is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mitsubishi A6M, known by the nickname Zero, was a Japanese carrier-based fighter of the Second World War. The A6M2 version was among the first production forms and in the first months of the war in the Pacific earned a reputation as an exceptionally agile machine with a long range, able to escort formations all the way to the target and back. The price paid for those qualities was a light structure and poor protection for the pilot and the tanks.
This is a decal sheet for the large 1:24 scale, that is for a model with a span of around half a meter, where any inaccuracy in the markings shows. Its range should therefore be checked before ordering against the instructions the manufacturer supplies with the sheet.
Decals come in different forms and the method follows from that. An ordinary decal releases from its backing paper after soaking in lukewarm water and slides onto the model, whereas self-adhesive films are not soaked and soaking damages them beyond repair. Which form you have in your hand is given in the instructions in the box, so follow them. What both have in common is that the surface should be smooth, glossy and degreased, and that the finished markings are coated with varnish once they are dry.
The decal sheet itself is supplied. The kit, the paints and the varnish are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
