The Reskit wheels for the de Havilland Mosquito in 1:32 scale are a resin replacement for the landing gear wheels for builders of the large Mosquito. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory, not a model. The set replaces the main landing gear wheels of a plastic Mosquito in 1:32 scale with resin castings with sharper detail. At this scale a wheel is large enough for the pattern of the tread and the molded lettering on the sidewalls of the tire to be made out, and by the same token every simplification the maker of the base kit allowed itself can be seen on it.
The Mosquito was a British twin-engine multirole aircraft with a structure of bonded wood, used in the reconnaissance, bomber and night fighter roles. Because of the wooden shell and a fairly high operating weight the main landing gear wheels were robust, and when it stood at an airfield the tire visibly spread. This detail lifts a model from a toy to a faithful miniature, because it creates the impression of weight.
On twin-engine aircraft the wheels are in direct view under the wings, so it pays to paint them separately and glue them on only to a finished landing gear. The procedure is simple: wash off the mold release, primer, a dark gray base for the tire, then a mask or a patient brush for the hub. If the casting has a suggested sag, take care when gluing that the patch rests level on the base; a rotated wheel can be seen at first glance. Finish with light dust on the lower part and a fine wash in the tread.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The set is cut for one specific kit, which the name states; please check the match with the model you are building before you buy. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
