An injection-molded plastic kit of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-2 in 1:32 scale from Trumpeter — a large, detailed model of the early Gustav.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109G-2 fighter, the Gustav, in 1:32 scale from Trumpeter. This large, detailed model offers a richly appointed cockpit, a detailed engine bay and the glazing of the G series. The large scale brings out the full range of detail; the set usually also contains photo-etched parts.
The Bf 109G-2 was an early version of the G series, in service from 1942. It was powered by the more powerful Daimler-Benz DB 605A engine and, compared with the later G-6 version, it still had a relatively clean skin without the prominent bulges over the gun breeches. The Gustavs became the most widespread series of the Bf 109, and the G-2 served on the Eastern Front, in the Mediterranean and in North Africa, where a number of leading fighter pilots flew it. Aerodynamically it followed the smooth lines of the preceding F series, and the increased engine power made it a feared opponent at high altitude.
First finish the cockpit and the engine bay, and only then close the fuselage. Protect the glazing with masks. Spray a primer as the base and then the RLM scheme; bring out the panels with a wash and suggest wear on the edges with drybrushing and chipped paint. Add the markings and the tactical numbers from the decal sheet.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
