The S-25 unguided rocket is among the most massive weapons of its kind, and in the version with a fragmentation warhead it carries the S-25-O designation. The set contains two rockets including the launch tube from which they are fired and which stays under the wing as a single-use container. The printing captures the ribbing of the body and the fan of fins. The fragmentation warhead has a different nose from the penetrating version.
The weapon was to replace a salvo of smaller rockets with a single hit of great effect over an area, typically against positions of troops, vehicles in the open or depots. Armament of this kind was carried by attack and tactical machines of Soviet design from the 1970s and has stayed in the arsenals to this day. The tube was usually not jettisoned after firing and the aircraft returned to base with it.
First check that both tubes sit parallel with the axis of the aircraft, and only then glue them on permanently. The outer surface of the container tends to be lighter than the rocket itself; a fine dusting on the lower surface completes the impression of field conditions. The front cover can be darkened so that the mouth does not look flat. Suggest the traces of exhaust behind the mouth with a dry pigment only very sparingly.
