Quinta Studio — 3D-printed color interior for the TBD-1 Devastator (1:32, for the Trumpeter kit) is a set of pre-colored 3D-printed cockpit parts on a decal backing, complemented by resin parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a model but a detailed interior set from Quinta Studio for building the Douglas TBD-1 Devastator kit in 1:32 scale by Trumpeter. It brings pre-colored cockpit parts — instrument panels, consoles and other fittings — on a decal backing, complemented by resin parts. You have to own the base kit separately; the set is cut exactly to the Trumpeter parts and will not fit another kit.
It is a step between a flat decal and photo-etch. The parts are 3D printed and already in color, and they sit on a decal backing. You apply them like a decal, but they have real three-dimensional 3D relief — the instruments and cockpit panels therefore look deep and photorealistic, without painting. The resin parts add fully three-dimensional elements.
The Douglas TBD-1 Devastator was an American carrier-based torpedo bomber of the US Navy. When it entered service in 1937 it was among the most modern carrier aircraft, but by the start of the Second World War it was already obsolete — slow and vulnerable. It became tragically famous at the Battle of Midway in 1942, where it suffered heavy losses; only a fraction of the machines of the torpedo squadron operating over the Japanese force came back. After Midway it was withdrawn from the front line and replaced by the Grumman TBF Avenger.
This is an add-on detail set, not a model. The base TBD-1 Devastator kit by Trumpeter, glue and paints are not included in the package.
