An injection-molded plastic kit of a modern armored vehicle of the MRAP category with 4x4 drive, in 1:35 scale from Kinetic. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model offers a well-worked body with the characteristic faceted lower hull and a gunner's cupola; for the exact package contents and the number of parts, go by the instructions.
MRAP stands for Mine Resistant Ambush Protected and denotes armored vehicles with a hull shape that deflects the blast wave of a mine or an improvised explosive. The 4x4 vehicles of this category served to carry crews and patrols in modern conflicts, where the main threat was precisely the improvised explosive device. The emphasis on them was on protection of the crew, visibility and quick deployment.
Fit the chassis and the axles first, and only then close the hull. Use thin modeling cement on the plastic, sand the joints down and treat the surface with primer. Lay a desert or NATO camouflage on with an airbrush, and dust pigments and light washes suit the fenders and the wheel wells.
