A set of ground equipment for the A-10A/C Thunderbolt II: a transport dolly with the engine stowed on it and figures of ground personnel to go with it. It is an accessory for dioramas, not an aircraft kit.

The scene the set opens up

A model of an aircraft on its own stands on a surface with nothing happening. As soon as a removed engine on a dolly and people working around it are added, the scene gains both a sense of scale and a story. The viewer immediately sees how big the machine is, and the eye has somewhere to travel. The dolly with the engine can also be built on its own as a scene from a maintenance hangar.

Building and painting tips

• Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remainder.
• Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the primer will not hold on a smooth surface.
• Paint the figures separately from the dolly and only set them into the scene once they are finished.
• Keep the dolly in the shades of working equipment, meaning with worn edges and traces of service.
• Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a small amount.
• Try the arrangement of the figures dry, so that they look as if they are interacting.

The box contains only the parts of the dolly, the engine and the figures. An aircraft model, a base, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
