A turned metal barrel of the Italian twenty-millimeter automatic gun with a barrel length of sixty-five calibers, in 1:35 scale. It is not a model but a replacement part. The long, slender barrel of an automatic gun is one of those parts that plastic can hardly keep straight at this ratio of length to diameter.

Building and painting tips

Drill the opening in the body of the weapon to the diameter of the shank, so that the barrel seats concentrically. On a slender barrel it pays to stand the model up after gluing and check it from the front and from above. It is glued with super glue. Degrease the part before painting and lay down a primer. Italian equipment of the North African campaign tended to be heavily dusted, so a light dusty cast on the weapon, together with metal wear on the exposed edges, reads faithfully.
