1:35 D 640 A

What you are buying

These are replacement tracks for a model of a tracked vehicle in 1:35 scale. The designation D 640 A refers to the type of track; which vehicle and which kit it belongs to is not stated here. Before you order the set, therefore, check on the packaging or against the manufacturer's data that it fits the model you are building. Track width and link pitch differ between types, and a mismatch only shows when you come to fit the running gear.

Why tracks are replaced

The tracks supplied in a kit tend to be the weakest point of the finished model. A replacement set allows a more accurate shape of link and, above all, the natural sag of the upper run, which with a track made from a single part never looks convincing. On a finished vehicle the track is one of the first things that catch the viewer's eye.

How to work with them

• fit them only once the running gear is finished and painted, otherwise you will not be able to reach the wheels
• if the links are separate, join them in shorter runs and let them set on the model, so that they remember the shape
• form the sag of the upper run according to a photograph of the real vehicle, not at random
• wash and degrease the tracks before painting
• apply the wear and the caked soil only at the end, after fitting them to the model

Terms of supply

This is an accessory for a kit. The vehicle model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. The procedure for gluing and joining differs between track versions; go by the instructions enclosed with the set.
