A folding tail section for the naval helicopters of the SH-60 and MH-60 lines in 1:35 scale, intended for the Kitty Hawk and Zimi Model kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Sikorsky helicopters of the SH-60 and MH-60 lines serve on the decks of surface ships, where space is short. The tail boom and the main rotor blades therefore fold on them, so that the machine fits into the hangar. Behind the designations SH-60B, SH-60F, HH-60H, MH-60R and MH-60S are versions with different tasks, from anti-submarine warfare through rescue to support and transport.
It is the tail section in the folded position in 1:35 scale for the kits from Kitty Hawk and Zimi Model. It replaces the matching part from the kit, so you can build the model as the machine looks parked on deck and save yourself cutting and filling the original boom.
Before you start gluing, check on photographs of the particular machine which way the boom folds and how far. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little from the part and sand the remainder off. Cement for polystyrene need not work on these parts; super glue holds reliably. The joint is under load, so let it dry thoroughly and do not handle the model until then. Wash and degrease the surface before painting.
The set is for modelers who want to build the helicopter in the folded deck position, whether on its own or as part of a scene with a ship's deck.
The set completes a kit, which it does not include. Paints and glue are not in the package, unless stated otherwise.
