The French M24 Chaffee light tank in 1:35 scale: a plastic kit in the equipment of the French army from the war in Indochina.
Responsibility details are not available.
This plastic kit in 1:35 scale captures the American M24 Chaffee light tank in French service during the war in Indochina. The highly detailed kit matches the modern standard of the brand and offers richly broken-up plastic parts, photo-etched items and individual track links. The model therefore allows a faithful rendering of this nimble tank in the form in which the French forces used it in Southeast Asia.
The M24 Chaffee was an American light tank of the end of the Second World War, valued for its good mobility and its gun of 75 mm caliber. After the war it served in a number of armies, and French units committed it during the First Indochina War. Best known is its part in a besieged fortress, to which the tanks were flown in sections and reassembled on the spot. There the Chaffee gave fire support in difficult terrain, where ordinary heavy equipment could hardly make its way.
With an armored vehicle, assemble and paint the running gear before closing the hull. Prepare the individual track links in advance and glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply the base green finish with an airbrush over primer, and dark washes into the recesses plus filters to unify the tone will add depth to the detail. Suggest the dust and mud effects typical of Indochinese terrain with pigments on the underside and the running gear, and paint chipping will enliven the edges and the walkways. Suitable decals will round out the French identity.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
