A plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian brand MiniArt. According to the name it is a combination of the L1500S light truck with a cargo trailer, which makes the box a rewarding subject for a diorama: a vehicle with a trailer takes up more room in a scene and creates a story of its own. The number of parts, the extent of the interior and the color schemes offered can be found in the instructions enclosed.
The L1500S was a light truck of roughly one and a half tons payload with rear-wheel drive, built in the first half of the 1940s. It was powered by an inline gasoline engine, and the design was derived from civilian production and adapted for military use. Vehicles of this type served to carry cargo and people, and special-purpose versions were built on their chassis as well, for example fire trucks. The cargo trailer extended the carrying capacity of the combination where a larger vehicle was not available.
With vehicles of this kind the order of work is decisive: assemble and paint the chassis, the engine and the cab before you close the body and fit the cargo bed. The wooden parts of the bed and the trailer come out best if you paint them separately and emphasize the wood grain with oil paints drawn along the grain. Paint the wheels separately, unify the tires with a matte tone and fit them only at the end. For the weathering the usual rule applies, from the bottom up: mud and dust on the wheels and underneath, dust on the fenders, small scuffs on the edges of the cab and in the places the crew would normally touch.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
