Bronco 1:35 Land-Wasser-Schlepper (Early Production) is a plastic kit of the German amphibious tracked tractor of the Second World War in its early production form.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from the manufacturer Bronco captures the German amphibious tracked tractor Land-Wasser-Schlepper (LWS) in its early production version, in 1:35 scale. The set contains a finely rendered hull and running gear, individual track links and photo-etched parts; the exact number of parts and schemes is given on the box.
The Land-Wasser-Schlepper was an amphibious engineer tractor the German army ordered as early as the 1930s. The hull resembled a tracked boat: on land it ran on steel tracks, and on water it was driven by a pair of propellers with two rudders. It was powered by a Maybach gasoline engine. The machine was to pull unpowered boats up onto the shore, tow vehicles across beaches and carry supplies straight onto the coast; it was also counted on for the planned invasion of England. Only a few were built and their use remained limited.
First assemble and paint the running gear and the interior spaces, and only then close the hull up - once it is glued you will not reach them. Glue the individual track links with liquid cement for plastic and let them become tacky so that you can shape them over the rollers. On an amphibian it pays to distinguish the waterline: darken the underwater part of the hull and add a suggestion of limescale and algae, and weather the parts above the water with dust. For weathering use washes in the recesses and pigments for mud effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
