An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M4 Sherman medium tank with a composite hull in 1:35 scale from Asuka, formerly known as Tasca. Asuka Shermans are among the best-regarded kits of this tank. The box contains photo-etched parts, clear parts for the lights and periscopes, a commander figure and markings for several finishes; the exact number of parts and marking options is not stated here.
The composite hull version joined a cast front section to a welded hull section further back — it came about so that production could respond flexibly to the availability of castings and plate. The M4 was the standard Allied infantry-support and breakthrough tank of the Second World War, powered by a gasoline engine, with a 75 mm gun and the proven VVSS suspension. China Clipper is a particular historical marking.
The tracks in this boxing are one-piece flexible (belt) parts imitating the T41 rubber blocks. Assemble and paint the running gear before finishing the hull. Glue the parts with a thin cement for plastic and attach the clear parts with a glue for glazing. After the base coat and the gloss coat under the decals, bring out the detail with a wash and add dust and mud with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
