An injection-molded plastic kit of the Chinese ZTL-11 wheeled combat vehicle in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. The model extends the range of present-day Chinese vehicles, in which the same manufacturer also offers armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles of the same family.
The ZTL-11 is a wheeled assault gun of the Chinese People's Liberation Army built on the eight-wheeled chassis of a modular family of armored vehicles. Unlike the carriers and infantry fighting vehicles of the same family, it carries a turret with a 105 mm gun, with which it supports infantry by direct fire and, when needed, acts against armored targets as well. The wheeled chassis gives the vehicle high speed on hard roads and easy transportability, which matches the requirement for rapidly moved units. The vehicle is part of present-day armament and is often seen at parades and on exercises.
Build the eight-wheeled chassis on a flat board so that all the wheels sit down. Paint the tires separately from the rims; you will get a cleaner transition that way. Fit the gun only after the turret is painted. Present-day Chinese vehicles are painted either in a uniform green shade or in a broken camouflage scheme, which sprays well over masking putty. A dark wash will pick out the panels, and keep the wear restrained, because these are vehicles in active service.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
