A metal refinement of the stowage boxes of the German Panther and Jagdpanther armored vehicles at 1:35 size. The boxes for tools and personal equipment were in reality welded from thin sheet; in plastic all that is left of them are disproportionately thick blocks. Photo-etch gives the walls and the lids the right thickness back and adds the hinges and the catches.
A tank crew needed the jack, the chains, spare track links, shovels and their own packs to hand. German workshops therefore attached sheet-metal boxes of the most varied shapes to the fenders and the rear; their form differed by production plant and by period, and in the field the crews often supplemented them with captured or home-welded pieces. It is exactly that untidiness that gives a finished model life: two otherwise identical vehicles look different every time once the boxes are fitted.
A box is folded from a single flat development, so work in an order that lets you close the last wall without pressing on the finished corners. Reinforce the corners with a drop of thin cyanoacrylate glue from the inside. The lid can be left slightly open, as the set gives the chance to do that and the model gains at once.
The set contains unpainted metal; the plastic model, paints and glues are not part of the price.
