The real subject

The Type 92 was a Japanese heavy machine gun derived from the Hotchkiss design and taken into service in 1932. It was already deployed during the war in China and in the clashes with the Soviet Union. Allied soldiers nicknamed it the Woodpecker for the characteristic sound of its fire.

Building and painting tips

• Separate the parts from the supporting structures and clean them up.
• Before gluing, wash off the residues and apply a primer.
• Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate).
• Bring the metal out with a dark base, a dry brush and a fine patina.
