An accessory cockpit set for the F-35B Lightning II model from Tamiya in 1:48 scale. This is the basic form, to which color 3D elements are enclosed. It replaces the equipment of the pilot space from the kit where the detail should be deeper and more legible.
The pilot space of the F-35 differs from older machines at first sight: instead of a row of round gauges there is one large display across the whole width of the panel in front of the pilot. Such an area can hardly be suggested by molded relief, and a color element therefore stands in for it more convincingly. On this aircraft the cockpit is moreover visible in its entirety, as the canopy is a single piece without frames in the middle.
For modelers who are building the F-35B from the Tamiya kit in 1:48 scale and want more than bare relief under the glazing. The basic form of the set covers what matters in the pilot space; the exact extent of the parts and the assignment of the elements are given in the maker's instructions.
