A set of precisely made resin AIM-9B Sidewinder missiles (4 pcs) from Reskit in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory that replaces the simplified plastic missiles from a boxed kit with a truer copy with sharp edges and fine surface detail.
The AIM-9B Sidewinder is the oldest version of the American infrared short-range missile, from the turn of the 1950s and 1960s. It has an uncooled seeker that follows the hot exhaust of the target, so it attacks only from behind. It is the basis of all the later Sidewinders.
This is a 3D-printed resin set for experienced modelers. First wash the print resin residue off the parts, cut them from the print supports and sand the surfaces down; protect your airways when sanding resin. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), not with ordinary plastic cement. Apply a primer before painting; the missiles are sprayed with an airbrush and finished with the color markings of the particular service use.
The set is supplied as unpainted resin parts. Paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package.
