This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from the Ukrainian maker ICM represents the German twin-engine Dornier Do 215 B-4. The package contains gray plastic with finely engraved detail, clear parts for the glazed nose and cockpit and a decal sheet. The model is intended to be assembled and painted.
The Do 215 B-4 was the long-range photo-reconnaissance version of the twin-engine Dornier derived from the Do 17 type. It carried cameras for long-range reconnaissance and was used over France and on the Eastern Front. A characteristic feature was the fully glazed nose with the crew stations.
The glazed parts of the cockpit call for careful masking and a cement suited to clear plastics. A primer and an airbrush are recommended; you will bring out German camouflage schemes with a fine wash into the panel lines and with graded matting of the surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
