Eduard 1:48 F-16CJ Block 50 Space Set

Space is a popular range from the Czech maker Eduard that combines 3D decals with pre-printed color and steel photo-etch. The result is a three-dimensional, ready-colored cockpit for the F-16CJ Block 50 fighter model in 1:48 scale, with no need to laboriously paint the instrument panels and side panels. The set serves as an upgrade to one particular kit; on its own it does not make a model.

What the set contains and how it is used

Typically the instrument panel and the side panels as layered 3D decals on backing paper, steel seat belts and other fine photo-etched parts. The decals have no adhesive layer of their own: moisten the backing paper under the element with a sponge and a drop of dish soap, lift the element off with tweezers and fix it with PVA glue (white glue). The manufacturer does not recommend super glue, and do not use a decal softener, as it attacks the printed resin. The colored surfaces come finished from the factory, so painting is unnecessary; the steel photo-etched parts are bent and glued with super glue.
