A resin detail set from the Czech brand CMK in 1:48 scale. This is not a model of an aircraft but a correction accessory which puts right the most important shortcoming of the model of the Swedish JA-37 Viggen fighter: the shape of the flaps of the forward canard. The set brings entirely new canard surfaces with separate flaps and a pair of vortex generators. The flaps can moreover be deployed to an angle of 30 degrees, which is a characteristic feature of the Viggen with its landing gear down. No reworking of the original kit is necessary.
The Saab 37 Viggen was a Swedish multirole combat aircraft with the unconventional layout of a delta wing and a forward canard with flaps. The JA-37 version was the lengthened fighter variant intended for air defense; the forward canard surfaces fundamentally improved the handling and the takeoff and landing characteristics.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); protect your airways when sanding. Paint the new surfaces to match the shade of the airframe; deployed flaps will heighten the realism of a machine on the ground. Match the paint with the surrounding surfaces.
