Messerschmitt Me 262A-1/A-2 with R4M 3D instrument panel 1:48 (Red Fox Studio) is a pre-painted acrylic instrument panel and cockpit detail for a model of this German jet aircraft. It is neither a kit nor a wet decal. Intended for the Tamiya kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from Red Fox Studio is a fully pre-painted three-dimensional (3D) instrument panel and cockpit details made of thin acrylic. It is not a kit and not a waterslide decal either, but a finished surface detail glued directly onto the plastic interior. The set also deals with the panel holding the controls for the unguided R4M rockets and the bomb release selector, thanks to which it fits the fighter as well as the fighter-bomber versions A-1 and A-2. The dials carry a hyperrealistic print with an imitation of the sheen of the glasses; it is prepared to measure for a particular kit in 1:48 scale. The set is designed for the Tamiya kit.
The Messerschmitt Me 262 was the first jet fighter in the world to be used in combat. The A-1 version served as a fighter, the A-2 version as a fighter-bomber. The unguided R4M rockets were used for mass attacks on bomber formations. The combination of a classic instrument panel with the onboard equipment of the day makes the cockpit a rewarding object for detailing.
The parts are separated from the carrier frame and glued onto the interior, best with super glue (cyanoacrylate); PVA glue is also possible. The surface can be gently highlighted with a wash and matted down with acrylic varnish. Before gluing, we recommend trying the fit dry.
It is an interior detail accessory, not a complete model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
