A detailed resin and 3D-printed set from Reskit intended to improve the plastic kit of the supersonic bomber Convair B-58 Hustler in 1:72 scale from Italeri. It is not an aircraft model but a set of replacement exhaust nozzles for the jet engines. The set is intended for more experienced modelers.
It replaces the simplified nozzles from the original kit with an accurate rendering that faithfully captures the petals and the internal structure. The B-58 was powered by four jet engines in nacelles under the wings, so the nozzles are clearly visible on the model and replacing them with detailed parts markedly raises the realism.
Wash the parts to remove any mold release agent, separate them carefully from the casting blocks and dry-fit them into the engine nacelles. Bond only with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sand with respiratory protection. Paint the inside of the nozzles in burnt metal shades before the final assembly.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin set. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
