An accurately 3D-printed resin set in 1:48 scale containing four American Mk.83 aerial bombs fitted with the BSU-35 retarding fin in the thermally protected form. The printing captures the fine texture of the thermally protective coating and the detail of the retarding mechanism markedly more sharply than injection-molded plastic.
The Mk.83 is an American general-purpose aerial bomb weighing around 450 kg from the Mk.80 series. After release, the BSU-35 retarding fin slows the weapon and makes a safe release from low altitude possible. The thermally protective treatment reduces the risk of premature initiation during a fire on deck.
Separate the parts carefully from the print supports and wash them. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The bombs are usually finished in light gray or olive with colored marking bands; the fine lettering is suggested with a decal. You hang them on the matching pylons of the model.
