This is a set of wet (water-slide) decals from Xtradecal with markings for the British McDonnell Douglas Phantom fighters in the FG.1 and FGR.2 versions in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit – the decals serve to code and mark a model that you build separately. The print is crisp, with saturated colors and the registration typical of this decal line.
The Phantom FG.1 and FGR.2 were the British versions of the renowned American two-seat supersonic fighter aircraft F-4 Phantom II. They served with the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy as fighter, reconnaissance and strike machines and carried varied squadron markings, which make them a rewarding theme for modelers of British aviation.
Apply the decals onto smooth gloss varnish, which prevents silvering. Cut the piece out, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds, move it into place and blot the excess water away. Decal softeners support the settling; once it has dried, seal everything with clear varnish to the degree of gloss you want.
This is a decal set, not an airplane model. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
