Die-cut self-adhesive masks from the Special Mask range, intended for a model of the twin-engine Si 204E aircraft, or its postwar Czechoslovak form the Aero C-3B, in 1:48 scale. It is not a model but an accessory for a build. The set deals with what is most laborious on this type: the glazing. An exact list of the contents is given by the manufacturer on the packaging.
The Si 204 was an all-metal twin-engine aircraft of German design from the Second World War period, used for transport and above all for training crews. Its production also ran in Czechoslovakia and continued there after the war under the designation Aero C-3, in several variants that then served for many years as trainers and liaison machines. For a modeler the front view is the interesting one: an extensive glazed nose made up of many flat panes divided by thin frames, and with it the side windows of the cabin. It is glazing like this that makes hand masking a tiresome job over several evenings.
First wash the clear parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry, so that no fingerprints are left on them. Lay the masks onto a dry surface and press each one down all the way around with a soft tool, and on flat panes especially carefully in the corners. The frames of the glazing are usually sprayed in the interior color from inside and only then in the camouflage color from outside, so think the order through beforehand. Spray thin coats, as a heavy coat easily runs under the edge of a mask. Remove the masks shortly after the paint sets, while the finish is still flexible, and pull them back diagonally over themselves.
The package contains the masks only. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
