A set for the exterior of the Su-30SM model in 1:48 scale: colored 3D elements complemented by 3D-printed resin and metal parts. For the Zvezda kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Su-30SM is a Russian two-seat multi-role combat aircraft from the family derived from the Su-27. You can recognize it by its canards ahead of the wing, its two engines and its tandem cockpit for the pilot and a second crew member. Ahead of the canopy, to the right of the centerline, it carries an optical-locator station with a spherical head; another conspicuous feature is the extendable probe for in-flight refueling.
The set targets the model's outer surface. It covers hatches and panels with their trim, the cannon barrel, the optical-locator station and the refueling probe. It combines two technologies: colored 3D elements that are set directly onto the model's surface, and three-dimensional parts made of 3D-printed resin and metal that replace plastic parts of the kit.
The manufacturer's instructions give the procedure for applying the 3D elements, so follow them. They are applied over a finished paint job, which must be dry, smooth and degreased, and are pressed down with a soft stick from the center outward. Cut off the printed and metal parts, level the mating surfaces and dry-fit them before gluing. Both the metal and the printed resin are glued with cyanoacrylate or epoxy glue, and it is a good idea to prime them before painting.
The set suits modelers who want the aircraft's exterior to be sharp down to the last detail without doing their own scribing and drilling. The package contains only the listed elements. The model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
