Injection-molded plastic kit of the British Westland Sea King naval helicopter in 1:48 scale from Airfix. It is a modern, comprehensive mold with a finely engraved and riveted surface, a well-developed cabin interior and parts for several versions (the HAS.1, the HAS.5 and the HU.5 rescue version). This large and detailed model is one of the most complete treatments of the type.
The Sea King is a heavy multipurpose helicopter that served with the Royal Navy for decades. In the HAS versions it filled the anti-submarine role with radar and sonar equipment, while the HU.5 version was used in search and rescue. Its hallmarks are the boat-shaped bottom of the fuselage and the folding main rotor blades and tail section for storage aboard ship.
Finish and paint the rich cabin interior before you close the fuselage. Mask the cockpit glazing and fit it after painting. The main rotor blades and the folding sections can be shown spread or folded. Fit the hanging and external items according to the scheme. Join the parts with liquid cement and apply the paints with an airbrush in thin coats.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
