The Grumman A-6 Intruder was a two-seat twin-engine carrier attack aircraft of the US Navy intended for precision bombing in all weather, by day and by night. The A-6E version was the modernized variant with advanced navigation and attack avionics. The Intruder served from the 1960s and proved itself in many conflicts thanks to its large weapons load and its ability to operate in poor visibility. Electronic warfare aircraft and tanker versions were derived from the same airframe.
Paint the cockpit interior and the landing gear bays and pick out their detail before closing up the fuselage. Assemble and paint the extensive external stores (bombs and drop tanks) separately, and only then hang them. Lay the naval scheme of gray shades with an airbrush over a primer; underline the service wear of carrier aircraft with a fine wash and a discreet dusting of the panels.
