Curtiss P-40E Warhawk Special 1:72 from AZ model — a short-run injection-molded plastic kit of the American fighter, with photo-etched parts and a generous choice of decals.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American fighter Curtiss P-40E Warhawk in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer AZ model, in the Special release with an extended choice of markings. It is a short-run kit with an engraved surface, supplemented with photo-etched parts, clear glazing and several decal schemes. Short-run kits are more demanding to clean up and fit, so the model suits rather more experienced modelers.
The P-40E Warhawk was a later, heavily armed version of the famous Curtiss P-40, powered by the Allison V12 engine. Against the early versions it had a heavier armament of six .50 caliber machine guns in the wings and a longer nose with a substantial radiator under the engine. The Warhawk served on many fronts, from North Africa through the Pacific to the Soviet front, and it became known for its toughness and for its ability to attack ground targets.
Expect the more demanding fit typical of short-run kits. Glue the plastic parts with a thin liquid cement for plastic and the fine photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Finish the cockpit and pick it out with a wash before closing the fuselage. Mask the glazing for crisp frames. Spray the camouflage with an airbrush over a primer, and choose one of the decal schemes on offer with care.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
