A plastic kit of the French two-seat jet trainer Fouga CM.170 Magister in 1:72 scale from Valom. It is a short-run injection molding supplemented by resin and photo-etched parts and with the option of choosing the clear cockpit canopy. The decals cover machines of the Irish Air Corps and the Finnish Air Force.
The Fouga Magister was a French jet trainer of the 1950s, easily recognizable by its characteristic butterfly V-tail. It served for basic as well as advanced pilot training with a number of air forces and became one of the most widespread jet training machines of its day. Besides France, further countries built it under license too.
Short-run molds call for more careful preparation of the parts, deburring and cleaning up of the mating surfaces, so we recommend the model rather to more experienced modelers. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement, and the resin and photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply primer before painting; it can be painted with a brush as well as with an airbrush. We recommend fitting the butterfly tail and the cockpit canopy dry before gluing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
