A set of figures of French dismounted dragoons from the period of the Thirty Years' War in 1:72 scale, meant to be painted by the modeler.
Responsibility details are not available.
In the 17th century, dragoons were infantry transported on horseback. They rode to the place of the fighting, dismounted and fought on foot with a firearm, which gave them the mobility of cavalry and the firepower of infantry. The set is devoted to French dragoons in dismounted form in the time of the Thirty Years' War, that is, the conflict of 1618 to 1648, which France entered in its later phase.
It is a set of figures in 1:72 scale for dioramas and combat scenes. The number of figures, their poses and the painting guide are given on the box of the set and in the manufacturer's instructions.
Small figures are painted differently from large ones; what matters above all is the legibility of the whole. First wash the surface in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap and let it dry. Cut off any excess material with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the surface. Then apply a uniform base, the broad colors of the coat, the hat and the boots, a dark glaze into the folds and finally a lighter cast on the edges. Details such as buckles are better merely suggested.
The set suits anyone interested in the Thirty Years' War as well as builders of scenes with a large number of figures, where 1:72 scale is an advantage. Paints, glue and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
