Two 3D-printed Type 92 machine guns of the Imperial Japanese Navy in 1:72 scale. A universal accessory for aircraft models.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Type 92 machine gun served with the Imperial Japanese Navy as a flexible defensive weapon. It was carried by carrier-based and floatplane machines, where the gunner aimed it from an open position behind the cockpit. In 1:72 scale it is a small but conspicuous element, because it stands out above the outline of the fuselage and draws the eye when the model is seen from the side.
The package holds two machine guns made by direct 3D printing. This technology copes with thin walls and fine edges that injected plastic cannot hold in this scale, so the barrel stays slender and the gun mount keeps its texture. The set is universal and is not tied to a single kit.
The parts are attached to the supporting structure by thin print supports. Remove them with a sharp modeling scalpel or fine nippers as close to the part as you can and level the remaining stubs with a fine sanding stick. Before painting, wash the surface so that no print resin residue is left on it, and let it dry. The material is strong, but the thin barrels will take only a little bending, so handle the part by its thicker section. It is bonded with super glue or epoxy.
The set suits older kits of Japanese naval aircraft in which the defensive machine gun is simplified or merges with its mount into one coarse molding. Two pieces in the package will cover a machine with two positions as well. The package contains only the parts listed. The model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
