The T-72B3 is a modernized variant of the proven Soviet, later Russian, T-72 main battle tank. The modernization was meant to raise the combat value of an older chassis at a relatively low cost: it brings a new fire control system, a more powerful engine unit and added explosive reactive armor against shaped-charge projectiles. Tanks of this family are among the most numerous modernized machines of the Russian armed forces and have been widely used in modern conflicts.
First assemble and paint the running gear and the lower parts of the hull, where work is harder once the model is finished. Cut the small parts off carefully and glue them with a thin modeling cement for plastic; move the small parts with tweezers. Apply primer and the base color with an airbrush, and after a gloss coat apply the decals. Pick out the panel lines and details with a wash, emphasize the edges with dry-brushing and use pigments to create mud and dust effects matching field service.
