An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet 9K57 Uragan multiple launch rocket system in its 9P140 launch vehicle form, in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the self-propelled rocket launcher on the eight-wheeled ZIL-135 chassis with its block of launch tubes. The set includes rubber tires and a decal sheet. It is a compact model of striking Eastern rocket artillery.
The Uragan (NATO designation BM-27) is a Soviet self-propelled rocket launcher that entered service at the end of the 1970s. From sixteen tubes it fires 220 mm unguided rockets at area targets tens of kilometers away. The vehicle on the eight-wheeled ZIL-135 chassis formed an important part of artillery fire support and served in many armies.
Assemble and paint the chassis and the block of launch tubes separately, and only then join the two together. Paint the rubber tires with a flat color on their own. Lay the base coat with an airbrush over a primer; for the weathering use washes in the recesses and fine pigments for the dust effects typical of field artillery.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
