An injection-molded plastic kit of the British carrier-borne jet fighter Hawker Sea Hawk in the Mk.100/101 version in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. The model has fine engraving, a well-worked cockpit and nose gear bay, a two-part canopy, detailed air intakes, two drop tanks and underwing unguided rockets. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
The Hawker Sea Hawk was a British single-seat carrier-borne jet fighter of naval aviation. It was marked by straight wings, a single jet engine and a bifurcated exhaust with nozzles on the sides of the fuselage. The Mk.100 and Mk.101 versions were export machines delivered to the West German Marineflieger, the Mk.101 carrying reconnaissance and radar equipment. Besides the Royal Navy the Sea Hawk served with further countries too and proved itself a reliable and pleasantly handling carrier fighter and attack aircraft of the turn of the 1950s.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic. Finish and paint the cockpit and the landing gear bays before closing the fuselage. The canopy can be displayed open. Apply the naval schemes, typically with a dark upper surface and a light lower one, with an airbrush. A fine wash will pick out the panel lines, and a final varnish will unify the surface and protect the decals.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
