The model contains clear parts for the cockpit glazing and faithfully captures the characteristic glider-like slender fuselage with its long wings. The C version differs from the original form among other things in its larger air intakes for a more powerful engine.
The U-2 Dragon Lady is an American single-engined reconnaissance aircraft able to operate at extreme altitudes beyond the reach of most defenses of the time. It was deployed from the 1950s for strategic reconnaissance. The U-2C variant received a more powerful engine, which called for changes to the intakes and other parts of the airframe.
The long thin wings call for careful gluing and reinforcement of the joints. Finish and mask the cockpit with its clear parts before painting. For the overall dark finish of the airframe a quality primer, an airbrush and gentle highlighting of the panel lines work well. A matte varnish will unify the final surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
