This is NOT an airplane model but a small resin detail set - a faithfully cast Type A pilot's headrest for the early version of the Vought F4U-1 Corsair carrier fighter with the so-called birdcage canopy in 1:72 scale. The resin part supplements or replaces the simplified headrest from the kit, which the name gives as Tamiya's, and sharpens the look of the cockpit.
The Vought F4U Corsair was an American carrier fighter with its distinctive cranked gull wing. The earliest F4U-1 version had a heavily framed, cage-like canopy, hence the Birdcage nickname. The headrest is a small but conspicuous feature of the cockpit, and on the early machines its form varied.
Separate the part from the thin casting block carefully, wash it free of the mold release agent and glue it with cyanoacrylate. Spray it in the matching interior shade and fit it before the cockpit is closed up. Tweezers and good light make the work easier.
The set contains resin accessory parts. The kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
