A collector's figure cast in resin, 75 mm tall, the manufacturer's part number FI75-025, from the Polish brand PANZER ART. The subject is the Bohemian king Premysl Otakar II, with whom the nickname in the name of the item, the King of Iron and Gold, stayed for hundreds of years. The height in millimeters is the main dimension for this class of figures; a scale ratio is not stated here. Within the FI75 range of medieval characters this is one of the most demanding renditions, so count on longer work at the painting. It is a subject for a figure painter, not a kit of a machine.
Premysl Otakar II was a Bohemian king of the Premyslid dynasty and reigned from 1253 to 1278. He gradually gained Austria, Styria, Carinthia and Carniola, so his power reached from the Bohemian mountains to the Adriatic, and his wealth, resting on silver, earned him the nickname King of Iron and Gold. He also stood at the top of the chivalric world of his day: he led a crusade to Prussia and his court was among the most influential in Central Europe. He fell in 1278 in the battle on the Marchfeld against Rudolf of Habsburg.
Dry-fit the figure before gluing and check the stance. Remove the mold seams with a sharp knife and sand them down; on resin a primer is a must. Paint the face and the skin before you glue the figure together, and treat the cloth and the metal separately. A royal figure takes richer painting, deep shadows and careful gilding of the metal parts.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
