Sixteen bottles cover the whole color wheel and add white, black and several earth tones. For a modeler who is starting out with an airbrush this is more practical than buying the shades one at a time: the basic range makes it possible to mix most military and civilian colors and at the same time serves as a stock for lightening and darkening ready-made camouflage tones.
Besides white and black, the box holds a medium yellow, red, two blues, an olive and a dark green, a yellow olive, a light brown, middlestone, ocher, mahogany, a muddy brown, burnt umber and a light gray. It is therefore a mix of pure colors for mixing and of several ready-made military shades that are used straight from the bottle.
It is a good idea to shake the bottle well before every use, because the heavier pigments sink to the bottom. Mixing can be done straight in the airbrush cup, but on larger areas it pays to prepare a stock in a sealable container so that the shade can be repeated later. The paints dry quickly and if the work is interrupted it is enough to flush the nozzle with water; a dried residue is released by the cleaner of the same range.
