The clear purple shade Mr.Color GX107 Clear Purple. It does not cover the base but only tints it; it is thinned with the thinner of the Mr.Color range, not with water.
Responsibility details are not available.
GX107 Clear Purple is a clear purple shade of the Mr.Color GX range. Clear colors do not cover the base but only tint it, so the result is always decided by the layer underneath. The GX range falls under Mr.Color, so it is thinned with the thinner meant for that range and the thinning ratio is given in the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging. Do not confuse it with the GX108 Clear Violet shade; go by the manufacturer's part number.
It works best as a top layer over a gloss silver or chrome base, where it creates a deep translucent shine. It is used on bodywork, motorcycle tanks, helmets and small glossy parts. It can also be brought in as a fine filter over an already finished color, when a shade needs to be shifted, or for tinting clear parts.
Stir the paint before work and watch the cleanliness of the work area, as every speck shows in a clear layer. Work with an airbrush and in thin coats, letting the surface dry between them. Adding depth is easy, taking it away is not, so one coat more is better than one heavy one. The base has to be smooth and glossy, as a clear layer hazes on a matte surface. It is thinned with the thinner of the Mr.Color range. The thinner of this range is more aggressive than that of water-thinnable paints, so test the bond with a paint of another brand on an offcut of plastic first.
The package holds a single bottle of paint. The thinner, brushes, airbrush and model are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
