A resin set of launchers and pylons for a MiG-29 model in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. The set replaces the simplified plastic mountings on which the missiles hang under the wing. Printing in resin allows the guide rails, the contacts and the lightening holes, which never make it into a mold, to be rendered. It is not an aircraft kit but an armament accessory for a finished model.
Under the wing the MiG-29 usually carries a combination of short-range and medium-range missiles, but each of them goes with a different type of mounting. Lighter rockets are launched from a rail launcher directly under the pylon, heavier ones are thrown clear by an ejector launcher, so that the rocket lights at a safe distance from the airframe. The result is that the real aircraft has several different parts under the wing at once, and that is exactly what a model often simplifies.
Release the parts from the supports over a working surface and level the mating faces on abrasive paper on glass. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Spray the pylons separately from the airframe and fit them only once they are painted, otherwise the masking becomes needlessly complicated. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
