A resin landing gear wheel set for a model of the MiG-19 fighter in 1:72 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. The resin print renders both the tread pattern and the shape of the rim without the mold seam that runs down the middle of a plastic wheel. It is not an aircraft kit but replacement parts for a model you already have.
The MiG-19 was the first Soviet production fighter to pass the speed of sound in level flight. It has two engines side by side in the rear and a markedly swept wing. Takeoff and landing speeds were higher than in the preceding generation, which put a heavier load on the landing gear and the tires, and so the aircraft was routinely slowed with a drag chute.
Cut the print supports away with a scalpel and level the seating face so that the wheel sits square to the leg. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Spray the tire a very dark gray and the rim separately, following the real subject. In 1:72 scale, patient work with a fine brush is enough for the transition between the rim and the tire.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
